In the Von Wettberg (Crop Genetic Heritage) Lab, UVM-Food Systems Research Fellow, and QuEST NSF Trainee. I am studying transcriptomics of fungal disease resistance in Tepary bean, oomycetes disease resistance in the Tepary Diversity panel, community-driven participatory plant breeding of the culturally significant crops, Sorghum and Mung bean.

Research associate and horticulture specialist.

While in this role, I was responsible for the cultivation department's state compliance and entry into the software, METRC. I performed all of the data accumulation and entry from cloning through Third-Party sampling/testing events. I was also responsible for developing training documents and training all of the cultivation and processing staff that utilized METRC. I supervised METRC entries and Third-Party testing events, while serving as a resource for METRC users in our facility. Data collection manager for internal cultivation improvements project, where I was responsible for developing phenotypic selection and plant morphological data forms. I trained and oversaw cultivators helping me with this project. Was in charge of compiling quarterly reports of facility cultivation information from clone to passed harvest batches for the accounting department.Helped with disease/pest scouting/identification, pruning and other general plant care.

Within this position I helped plant and maintain viticulture research trials at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Center. I also performed entomology data collection and insect ID at vineyards in the Traverse City Area. I gained experience with apple and cherry production, pruning and disease/pest scouting.

As a Resident Advisor, I served as a liaison between first year residents and the university. The main focus of this position was to enhance the student experience, encourage academic success, and foster an open and welcoming community.

I was a Research Assistant working with Dr. Michael Reagon in Snow Lab within OSU’s Evolution Ecology and Organismal Biology Department. My undergraduate research project focused on variation of the EPSPS gene in our sampled Palmer Amaranth population, but I also assisted with projects focusing on population genetics of Weedy Rice.

Within this position I gained experience cultivating; cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, cut flowers, strawberries, raspberries, juneberries, cold hardy trees. All of these crops were produced as a part of larger research projects with trial locations throughout North Dakota.
