About Jasmine Forde
Jasmine joined Mathematica after receiving her M.S.Ed in Education Policy from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her degree part-time while working full-time as the Research Coordinator for a brand-new cognitive neuroscience research lab at UPenn, The Changing Brain Lab. The lab studies how children think and learn and how different aspects of environments, both positive and negative, impact learning, brain development, and brain plasticity. As a result of Jasmine facilitating the development of The Changing Brain Lab, she gained extensive experience in research design, data collection, and project management, all while working regularly with children, caregivers, and P-12 schools across Philadelphia. Through this position, she became interested in making evidence-based research more applicable and to bridge the gaps between research, policy, and practice in order to improve whole child well-being, especially for children and families experiencing the effects of poverty. For Jasmine’s M.S.Ed. Practicum thesis, she had the opportunity to start exploring this bridge, and worked with the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Education to research enrollment trends for their new universal PreK program, PHLpreK, by studying parental preferences and decision-making. Jasmine received her B.S. in Neuroscience and Psychology from Temple University.
Listed skills include Leadership, Powerpoint, Social Media, Public Speaking, and 30 others.
