A First- Generation B.S. Graduate from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I have learned and applied many valuable skills in my career such as schedule building, budgeting, financial aid processes, career development, and registration processes & systems. I hold the biggest belief that students only have the greatest motivation when they are fully supported by those around them. It is one thing to have a transactional relationship with students where all an individual does is gives the student information and send them on their way, but it is even more powerful when you allow a student to be personal and vulnerable with you about their passions and goals. Knowing these allows you and your students to develop a success plan and lessen the stress they may face on campus. I believe sharing these values with my future team will make our work environment more welcoming and allow students to apply themselves more with our support than pushing through it alone.
