After graduating from engineering school and entering the wokforce, I spent the majority of my time in manufacturing environments problem solving and improving efficiencies. It became clear that I had a real passion for working with people and improveing the conditions for them to do their work. In 1998, I had the opportunity to join Herman Miller as they began their corporate Continuous Improvement journey. Since that time I have been able to split time between Operations and Continuous Improvement Leadership roles. Our operational excellance development started with and continues today with coaching from Toyota's TSSC.I have spent many years as a manufacturing leader at Herman Miller, but have also been able to spend several years leading and coaching the Herman Miller Performance System (HMPS). Being able to spend time in each of these areas has allowed me to practice as well as reflect, learn and practice again.I am passionate about business improvement. My approach is to focus on processes and improve them through the development of people. I truley believe that people are the most important resource and real business success comes from helping those resources reach their full potential.
