JASON EAGAN is the Founding Artistic Director of Ars Nova, a not-for-profit organization in New York City committed to discovering, developing and launching theater, comedy and music artists in the early stages of their professional careers. During his time with the organization, he has had the great fortune of supporting thousands of artists, whose work has begun to expand across the globe. Recent Ars Nova premieres include: Rags Parkland Sings the Songs of the Future, KPOP, Underground Railroad Game, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, which was commissioned and produced by Ars Nova before going on to become the most Tony nominated show of the 2017 Broadway season. Beyond Ars Nova, Eagan has worked as a director, mentor and advocate. Directing credits for the stage include world premieres: A House Tour of the Infamous Porter Family Mansion with Tour Guide Weston Ludlow Londonderry by Peter Nachtrieb and Now Circa Then by Carly Mensch; as well as new productions of Gypsy starring Andrea McArdle and the award-winning San Francisco production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch starring Kevin Cahoon. Having first crisscrossed the country as a Stage Manager for various opera companies, Jason made his way to New York City to manage Disney Theatrical’s Design Studio for The Lion King on Broadway. He has enjoyed affiliations with England’s Improbable theater company, New York Theatre Workshop, Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theatre Club, Los Angeles Opera and San Francisco Opera among many others.
