I became a partner at MMD in January of 2004. We took the company from $1 million in sales and four employees to over $5 million in sales and 25 employees by 2009. Primarily MMD provided doors, frames, hardware, and bathroom specialties. We sold mainly wholesale to General Contractors, Schools, Churches, Casinos and Government projects. We also provided expertise in project management and coordination for the general contractors. We also provided specification design, consultation, and pre-construction estimates for the architects. I sold the company in June of 2010.

Mike Martin and I started this Construction Management Company in 2001. We were ahead of the curve in seeing a trend and a need for the Construction Management concept. We were successful in design-building many churches and schools. With his design experience and my experience in the construction industry, we had a track record for the successful completion of multi-million dollar projects through coordinating trades, developing partnerships and building positive rapport with local officials, vendors, and clients while maintaining costs. We handled project estimating, building code and regulations, material purchasing, site management through certification of occupancy. Responsibilities included design review and analysis of projects, bidding, negotiations, sub-contractor selection, material purchasing, scheduling, project budget, building code compliance, and certification of occupancy. I left the company in late 2003 to purchase Muskogee Metal Doors.
