Easier To Ignore is a multi-format storytelling platform that celebrates authentic stories of Black people and their experiences with race. We explore people’s personal journeys as they process and overcome racial trauma, and relate those stories to a larger cultural context to help our audience challenge systemic racism and envision a better collective future for Black people globally. The aim of this platform is to bring our growing audience the personal and nuanced portrayal of the Black people that they need in a media landscape that has for too long misrepresented the Black experience. We provide a necessary counter-narrative to challenge historic and damaging media distortions that lead to the internalization of racist stereotypes andembolden racist behavior. In turn, we will equip our viewers with the vocabulary and tools to challenge racial injustice within their communities and process personal racial trauma. We fervently believe that authentic personal storytelling is a vehicle for large scale cultural transformation.

I joined Yard NYC in September 2018 as a Freelance Creative Director to develop a pitch for Walmart Fashion. Within 6 months my role transitioned to full time, where I partnered with a Creative Director of Copy, to oversee the team charged with transforming Walmart into a credible fashion destination.Myself and my creative partner launched the platform ‘We Dress America’ for Walmart Fashion in Spring ‘19, the campaign celebrated the breadth of great personal style and radical inclusivity across the US. The campaign came to life through a social campaign, TV spots and print executions shot by Ryan McGinley. Leveraging the success of We Dress America and the resonance of the message of inclusivity, we took on the next frontier for Walmart creative: their first beauty platform. ‘Here for Every Beauty.’In my time at the Yard, in addition to overseeing our partnership with Walmart I also led campaigns across other fashion brands that include 7 For All Mankind — ‘Remember Your First’ campaign, Boden, as well as Tanqueray — ‘This Is Gin’ Campaign, while continuing to develop new business through proposals and pitches. I led through a balanced skill set of vision and execution, challenging my team of Art Directors, Style Director, Designers, Image Researchers across the full lifecycle of the creative campaign.
