My intellectual property practice includes litigation of cases involving theft of trade secrets, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, patent infringement and related claims. Although my primary focus is litigation, I am a licensed patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and also assist clients with the preparation and prosecution of patent applicatons.Because of my electrical engineering background and my ten years of experience in the software industry, I typically focus my practice on software-related cases, and am capable of analyzing a variety of software issues (including analysis of source code) in order to determine appropriate legal strategy. In addition to advising clients as to strategy for protection of software assets, I have litigated patent, copyright, and trade secret cases involving software assets in a variety of jurisdictions, and have advised clients on licensing issues, open source issues, and joint development agreements.

As part of the Kaplan Higher Education division of the Washington Post Company, I researched statutory requirements for higher education facilities and investigated potential compliance issues.
