Hello All,My name is Jason White and I am an IT Support Specialist for the City of Shawnee, OK. I am also a Spring 2024 graduate from Oklahoma State University - Institute of Technology and I earned a Bachelor's for Computer Science in Software Development. I have taken classes for C++, Python, C, C#, SQL, PHP, ASP, Computer Hardware, Information Security, HTML5/CSS3, Ethics in IT, and Operating Systems. I also took a course on container tech such as Kubernetes and Docker but there was very little in the way of hands on experience. Many of the coding classes focused on forms whether Windows Forms or Web Forms and used SQL queries to manipulate data/databases. I'd consider myself proficient with Microsoft Office and I have learned most of the ins-and-outs of the ERP software we utilize for the City of Shawnee, ERPPRO by Tyler Technologies.Some of the soft skills I am proficient in are:Communication - I hear all the time how internal customers love that I let them know what's going on and also follow up any job with an email asking if it was done to their liking.Adaptable - I take the tools at hand and make due with what is available. I'm of the mindset that no problem should go unsolved no matter how minor.Teamwork - I feel that teamwork makes for an easier go at tasks, especially when it comes to knowledge transfer among colleagues. I am not afraid to share what I know and document my ideas well.Problem Solving - I was promoted at my last job for my ability to problem solve/troubleshoot CNC Machines. I have carried that spirit to my current position and as always Google and YouTube are huge allies in the search for fixes to issues which may not be documented elsewhere.
