Jasper is fiercely passionate about helping to nurture and inspire young chefs. This is evident from his appointment as Young Chefs Ambssador Mentor by the World Association of Chefs Societies, where he is a driving force behind developing the growth of Young Chefs Clubs around the world. He currently works extensively with more than 30 Young Chefs Clubs in Asia and beyond.He takes an advisory role in the Singapore Junior Chefs Club, the youth arm of the Singapore Chefs Association, which he helped set up in 2004 and held key appointments in its executive committee, such as being its President for five years, Head of Activities and Public Relations. Under his guidance, he has helped grew it to over 390 members, who hail from major culinary institutions. He believes young chefs should be given the opportunity and condusive environment to grow, learn, be exposed to the various facets of the industry, and to cultivate a positive mind ready for the vigorous and yet fulfilling realities ahead of them.Besides dedicating much of his precious time off work to the above cause, he continues to focus on honing his knowledge and skills in culinary and management at work. He has had stints in landmark restaurants such as Restaurant Re-naa in Norway, Joël Robuchon Restaurant in Singapore, the eponymous basque restaurant Restaurante Martin Berasategui (a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in San Sebasatian area) as well as hotels such as Crowne Plaza Changi Airport and the historic Grand Dame, the Fullerton Hotel Singapore.During his free time (which he rarely has) he enjoys reading cookbooks and food magazines to learn of the latest trends in the Gastronomic world. He is someone who believes that good food is simply one that makes people feel happy!
