Electrostatic discharge evaluations of hybrid module and final assembly operations for high reliability, implantable, medical devices for the purpose of identifying opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement remedies for all opportunities that could impose damage to ESD sensitive components or assemblies. I perform the same functions at suppliers' and subcontractor's facilities while explaining specific risks and providing ESD control training to these companies.

Responsible for all aspects of product quality and reliability for world class chip manufacturers, packaging and electrical test of Qualcomm's MSM (mobile system modems) components. Suppliers included IBM, Intel, and Motorola.

Several different positions at Motorola SPS during this time period: Metrology Engineer, Product Quality, Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineer, Reliability Laboratory Manager, ESD Champion and Chairman of Corporate ESD Steering Committee.

Led technical team that collected data, researched sources of defects, developed methods to eliminate wafer defects for Fab 7. Also was a member of Intel's Cleanroom User's Group.

While attending the University of Colorado as a full-time Engineering student, I worked as Honeywell's first college intern. I performed research on sources of VLSI wafer surface particles and defects and determined and implemented fixes resulting in wafer yield increases. I also performed 5x and 10x stepper daily pre-production checks.

Worked my way up through the enlisted ranks to ssgt. Worked at NORAD in Colorado Springs 1976, 1977, and 1978. I was then stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea (1978-1979). I left the Air Force in Nov 1979 to pursue an electrical engineering degree at University of Colorado.
