As the Vice President Strategic Business Development for Henry Ford Health System I am responsible for execution of company’s overall development strategy. This includes traditional merger and acquisitions activities in existing and new markets, as well as more innovative partnerships seeking to implement creative solutions to the rapidly changing healthcare industry. With more than 38 years of healthcare management and investment experience, I have been involved with more than 80 acute care hospital transactions and numerous healthcare business investments in both domestic and international markets. Prior to joining HFHS, I was the SVP of Development for IASIS Healthcare in Nashville TN from 2010 to 201, prior to that role I was the Senior Vice President for Signature Hospital Corporation, a hospital company based in Houston, Texas. In addition to overseeing the development strategy for Signature, he also was responsible for physician recruiting and marketing, corporate communications, and legal functions. From 1994 to 2006, I served as a partner at both Richland Ventures and Coleman Swenson Hoffman Booth, Inc. – two venture capital firms focused on investing in early stage healthcare service, technology and medical device businesses. I have served on the board of directors of a number of companies including Televox, Spinal Concepts, US Healthworks, Lifetrust, Sleep Med Inc, and Harmony Health Plan.
