As a law student at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, my journey through the legal landscape is driven by a passion for Criminal Law, civil rights, and advocacy for marginalized communities. My educational foundation was laid at New York University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a pre-law track, equipping me with a strong academic base and a critical understanding of political and legal principles. My commitment to justice and progressive politics was honed in California, where I engaged in comprehensive campaign work for progressive candidates, including canvassing, organizing, and managing volunteers, in addition to providing logistical and administrative support for elected officials and lobbying for impactful legislation. My passion extends beyond the classroom into practical, hands-on experiences that sharpen my legal acumen. As a member of the Thurgood Marshall Trial Team, I receive rigorous litigation training, fueling my aspiration for courtroom advocacy. Concurrently, my involvement in the Black Law Students Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution team enriches my skills in negotiation and mediation, critical tools for effective legal practice. My engagement with the UMD Law Dems offers me invaluable insights into local politics and further opportunities to support democratic initiatives in Maryland.
