A career timeline built from the work history available for this profile.

Aerodynamics Analysis Engineer

Developed experimental methods, analysis techniques, and systems for Formula 1 wind tunnel testing.

Nov 2020 - Aug 2023

Aerodynamic Systems Engineer

Developed control systems for the wind tunnel and and tools for improving the accuracy of measurements to aid the aerodynamic development of Formula 1 cars.

Mar 2020 - Nov 2020

Control Systems Engineer - Advanced Technologies

Development of controls systems and software for the Aston Martin WEC Le Man Hypercar.

Jan 2020 - Mar 2020

Simulation And Performance Engineer

I was responsible for conducting simulation activities for race preparation and development of a fully electric race car competing in the Formula E championship. I managed the development and correlation of the models used in offline and driver-in-the-loop simulations that allowed the team to create energy management strategies and analyze changes made to the vehicle. I was also a performance engineer attending trackside at all race and test events. In this role I performed data analysis and worked with the drivers to improve performance.

Nov 2018 - Jan 2020

Vehicle Dynamics Section Lead And Race Engineer

I led the vehicle dynamics section within the Formula Student team to develop simulations and conduct off and on track testing to improve the performance of the vehicle. The team competed at Formula Student UK, finishing 2nd place overall and 2nd in the engineering design event. One area of improvement that I focused on was the development of simulation tools to allow the team to perform better analysis of design concepts and make better decisions. These tools were developed using MATLAB, Simulink, and ADAMS. The main simulation development project that I was responsible for was the creation of a quasi-steady-state lap time simulation. This involved creating a vehicle model and a custom solver using a damped Newton Raphson method to simultaneously determine all vehicle states. I also worked on multi body dynamics models and used test equipment such as a 4 post rig to perform correlation on models. As the Race Engineer, I was responsible for the operation of the car at all events. This included determining vehicle set up and test plans. I also managed a trackside team consisting of data engineers and mechanics to maintain and prepare the car. During events I maintained run sheets and used driver feedback and logged data to decide on set up changes.

Sep 2017 - Sep 2018

Team Captain, Suspension Lead

I managed the overall team and suspension section of a FSAE team building race cars for the Formula SAE Collegiate Design Series. As the Suspension Lead, I developed suspension geometries using OptimumKinematics and performed mechanical design using SolidWorks working closely with other sub-teams to ensure integration. To analyze vehicle performance, I utilized MATLAB and Simulink to develop vehicle dynamics models and simulations. I performed structural analysis using ANSYS and produced engineering drawings with GD&T to specify requirements. During the manufacturing phase of the project, I fabricated parts and carried out inspection measurements to ensure that all components function properly before final installation. As the Team Captain, I managed a team of 60 students divided into 7 sub-teams. I was responsible for planning the project timeline and budget. I also secured and maintained sponsorships to provide funding and in-kind support.

Sep 2011 - May 2017

Lab Teaching Assistant

I worked as a teaching assistant for a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate lab teaching students about internal combustion engine technology by demonstrating the use of a chassis dynamometer to test a vehicle's powertrain. I was also responsible for making improvements to the lab procedure and content.

Jan 2017 - Apr 2017

Mechanical Engineering Co-Op

I was a part of the testing team and conducted testing on precision motion control and automation products to determine performance specifications. I designed, built and programmed test equipment focusing on reducing set up time and improving accuracy. I automated test and measurement procedures using the Python to perform data analysis and control actuators.

May 2016 - Dec 2016

Co-Op Student, Product Designer

I planned and conducted tests on prototypes of marine hydraulic steering components and electronics to validate their performance, durability and compliance with industry standards using custom built test set ups. I prepared test reports with detailed procedures and observations to document test results and findings. I also contributed to product design by conducting tolerance stack-up analysis utilizing Pro/E to determine the clearances and engagement of components in assemblies.

May 2014 - Aug 2014

Mechanical Engineering Co-Op

Worked in the engineering team to develop smart auto tinting window films by contributing to the preparation and photostability testing of prototypes.
