Under the direction of Dr. Kara Watts:- I assessed the relationship between Social Determinants of Health and primary treatment choice for localized prostate cancer in a diverse, urban population. I gave an oral presentation and a moderated poster presentation of this research. Also, I am the first author on the manuscript currently in the process of submission.Under the direction of Dr. Alexander Small, Dr. Dima Raskolnikov, Dr. Brian Eisner:- I am collaborating on the calibration and validation of a nomogram for risk stratification and prediction of septic shock in patients undergoing ureteral stent placement for obstructing stones and concomitant UTIs. We anticipate having the results analyzed sufficiently to present at AUA 2024.Under the direction of Dr. Alexander Small:- I am conducting a literature review on the social drivers of recurrent kidney stones, looking for potentially modifiable factors that could be used to stratify risk of stone development.

- I mentored students individually in science content and effective testing strategies to help them achieve their targeted MCAT score. Additionally, I taught weekly classes of 15-30 students, demonstrating how to break down MCAT passages and apply the associated content with proven strategies.- As a member of the Student Progress Committee, I trained and oversaw a team of 6 other mentors, coordinating their efforts to teach 50+ students.

Under the direction of Dr. Christina Yang:- I conducted a quality improvement project to assess pediatric otolaryngologists’ admission practices following recent revisions to the guidelines. To do this, I surveyed members of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology to examine patient and surgeon factors associated with differences in practice and potential deviation from the guidelines, compiling their responses and comparing them to the different guidelines from each organization.- I presented the research at a national conference and published the findings as the first author.

- I planned and organized year-long programs for 5,000+ students to participate in weekly club activities. To do this, I recruited, trained, and oversaw the efforts of a team of more than 30 volunteers through effective delegation and communication. Together, my team and I trained hundreds of club presidents and helped thousands of club members put on events.

Under the direction of Dr. Dario Mizrachi:- I discovered how to apply flow cytometry in a novel way to calculate the strength of tight-junction bonds expressed in E. coli, named iCLASP - (inspection of cell-adhesion molecules aggregation through flow cytometry protocols).- I received a College Undergraduate Research Award to help fund the screening of a 50,000 compound library with our new technique. I directed a team of 10 students in completing this task.- I presented at university, state, and national conferences and published a paper as the first author detailing our novel technique, which was then used as the foundation for multiple other projects.

- I collaborated with coworkers to effectively give a high standard of care to the residents and patients in subacute rehabilitation. In doing so, I was praised by the managers as a model employee – helpful, hardworking, and punctual.- I could see the difference I was making in people’s lives, helping people who were unable to perform acts of everyday living for themselves. As I gained experience, I was responsible for training many other CNAs, helping them overcome pride and serve the patients who needed us.
