At HME, our team built marketing and communications strategy for six brands and sister companies. We launched the company's first ever employee newsletter, exceeding benchmark open rates. We also updated and launched three new customer-facing websites with fresh content, imagery, and customer-centric needs. Finally, we managed social media strategy for nearly a dozen pages to create sales leads and improve employee recruitment and retention.

After the merger of Westar Energy and KCP&L, two Kansas/Missouri-based energy companies, I was promoted to Manager of Internal Communications. I led a team of strategic communicators, developing corporate communications strategy and managing multiple channels (employee app, intranet, digital signage, and leadership communications). We worked to build relationships and strategy to create trust, brand advocacy, and engagement with employees and customers.

Well, that's what I did at Westar - told the amazing stories of Westar Energy, its people, performance and programs. I supported internal communication channels including the internal eNewsletter and internal digital messaging. I connected and engage with other departments to learn their compelling stories and help share them throughout the company as well as develop graphic elements to enhance those stories.

I contributed to the creation of communication pieces and brand development. Examples include internal blogs, news releases and remarks for company management.
