Student IT is the primary Tier 1 IT support team for students at The University of Melbourne. We offer support at three helpdesk locations, as well as an online chat and support queue.As Student IT Co-ordinator, I supervise day-to-day activities for a team of 30 Student IT assistants. I'm also involved with recruiting and onboarding of new staff, liaising with other teams across the University and actively improving our operational procedures.

In this role, I helped to staffing the Student IT helpdesk at 3 library locations on-campus. I assisted students with the use of university IT facilities and liaised with other departments to resolve student enquiries where necessary. I performed research assistance work with the speleothem science group at The University of Melbourne. I took stable isotope calcite subsamples from speleothems and ran them on the School of Geography's AP2003 mass spectrometer, as well as compiling data from research papers for one of my supervisor's ongoing projects. The latter led to co-authorship of a manuscript which is currently under review.

I provided administrative support for various admissions departments across the university including International Admissions, the Melbourne School of Engineering, the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Melbourne Business School.In these roles I checked applications for completeness, responded to applicant enquiries, prepared applications for assessment and performed data entry work using the university's admissions system.
