Extra responsibility - Press Officer 1997 – 1998

I was a teacher of English as a foreign language for two years in Madrid, Spain. As well as having a wonderful time, I learnt to speak and write Spanish fluently and gained valuable teaching experience with children, teenagers and adults. I also had experience of managing staff and being an examiner for Cambridge First Certificate exams.I taught EFL to a wide age range - seven to adult and from beginners to advanced. As a business English teacher I worked with Mahou, ABB, Glaxo, Saatchi and Saatchi, SmithKline-Beecham, the Ministry of Education, Zeneca and other companies. Lessons and schemes of work were planned with corporate curricular design.

Multi-level, multi-lingual classes for women. Funded by Employment Initiatives. I was responsible for devising an appropriate ESL programme, resources and materials.Worked in the community with ethnic minority groups and immigrants. Taught learners with literacy and special language needs for integration into the community, leading to training and employment.
