Managing and organizing our customer round-table activities at Microsoft's large global customer events energizes me as I create opportunities for our engineering teams to engage actively with our customers to better meet their needs. I am excited to be part of a team that drives cultural change within the organization to be more inclusive in our product decision making processes through the use of storytelling and community building. I produce stories in both video and written forms to inspire action in our engineering teams to be more customer centric.As a co-lead for the storytelling council within Microsoft, I help foster a growing community of more than 2400 storytellers across the organization. I continue to push the envelop for better storytelling throughout the organization, inviting external speakers to share best practices, producing and directing our annual Microsoft Storytelling Summit, and facilitating storytelling workshops for various teams across the company.

I am fortunate to be part of a new team shifting Microsoft's culture and accelerating our customer-driven journey as an organization. A big part of culture change is through storytelling, one of my many passions. I seek out stories of teams and individuals actively engaging with customers and tell these stories by producing videos and written content. At the same time, I foster a community of customer-driven champions and activators, and help set communication strategies to amplify our customer-driven programs and activities to drive greater engagement numbers.

Dance is a huge part of my life's journey. Pursuing my passion for the art form, I have led 4 dance companies as an artistic director, mentoring and nurturing a total of around 200 dancers to date. Through my journey as an artistic director, I had to show great foresight in planning and setting a vision for my company. Growing up in a multi racial and cultural country, I was able to use my past experiences to bond a team of dancers from different parts of the world with different cultural backgrounds to come together and share an art form towards achieving a common goal. I constantly promoted versatility and creativity in all aspects of the art form, as well as instilled the importance of certain life disciplines that continue to be applicable both on and off stage. Creating a "family" more than just a team was very important to me and I emphasized the importance of team bonding, ensuring that everyone was constantly learning and growing together. One of the highlights of my artistic experience was choreographing and directing for the 50k Lions of Justice Festival that involved 50,000 youth across the United States to promote peace. This event garnered the support of individuals such as Herbie Hancock and Michelle Obama.

Hitachi Ltd.Software Development and Sales• Determined preliminary software requirements for an asset monitoring decisions support system• Drafted out wire-frames and user stories during the development phase• Coordinate with offshore resources from India and Japan to build out requirements and develop a software solution for decision support in the field and analysis in the engineering office. • Conducted a software demonstration in a knowledge exchange workshop with 10 electrical utilities• Demonstrated a prototype of a mobile application as well as a back-end data analysis system at DistribuTECH, one of the largest energy conventions in the US.• Coordinated overall booth layout, marketing concept and logistics required for DistribuTECHBusiness Processes• Create data models and analysis tools in excel to gain insight from big data• Coordinated several knowledge exchange workshops between the US and Japan teams, exchanging unique practices related to each country’s market environment.• Drafted various governance model options for project’s future implementationMadison Gas & Electric and ENMAX• Supported an initial assessment of 2 electrical utilities that pointed out major pain points and a proposed project road-map that outlined several initiatives that could resolve these pain points.• Assisted in the creation of analysis tools for understanding an electric utility’s current position.• Gathered and organized findings from interviews and tracked action items throughout the course of the on-site, streamlining the process of identifying gaps in the company.• Created a more structure brainstorming process to finding resolutions for such gaps identified.• Produced and consolidated strategic recommendations for the utilities’ executives.

Serving in the Singapore Armed Forces built my leadership and character. I graduated from Officer Cadet School as a 2nd Lieutenant and was posted to lead a company of a 100 soldiers within a brigade. During my service, I displayed strong leadership by motivating, enforcing general discipline and leading by example, resulting in the company achieving outstanding results in their Army Training Evaluation exercise. My company was also involved in the organization of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games 2010 opening and closing ceremony and I was able to exercise my people management and resource delegation skills on a daily basis. Importantly, I created a strong company culture for my soldiers through various social activities between their vigorous training in order to keep the morale up constantly and to bring the company closer together as a whole.
