Jay Wheaton, PE leads the La Crosse office for the Western Infrastructure Group at Mead & Hunt. He has over 17 years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation related design. As a Transportation Manager, Jay recognizes that teamwork is essential to the success of any endeavor. He works alongside his staff as a project manager, mentoring them to become leaders in the field of civil engineering. Jay believes in not only meeting but exceeding his client’s expectations and continuously puts forth the effort to do so. He excels at project communication, keeping projects on schedule, project constructability and developing creative design solutions to maximize shrinking budgets.Community is also important to Jay. In addition to leading the La Crosse office for Mead & Hunt, he coaches a local youth wrestling team and serves as a fire fighter and assistant chief for his local fire department. He believes that giving 110% in all that you do, and learning from and teaching one another are imperative to maintaining and growing our future.
