Librarian
CurrentJob Duties:*Provides reference and reader's advisory services to customers in person, by phone and through email.*Provides assistance to customers in person, by phone and email for digital services for eBooks, eAudio, digital magazines, and digital music apps.*Plans, prepares and conducts public attendance programs for teens, children, and multi-generational adults.*Maintains a positive and effective working relationship with the High School administration, faculty, custodial staff and students.*Promotes library resources through special programs and activities, instructional tours and community contacts.*Works closely with teachers designing authentic learning tasks and assessments, as well as providing author and motivational speaker visits. *Maintains current knowledge of research on teaching and learning.*Applies research findings to situations that call upon students to access, evaluate and use information from multiple sources to learn, think, create and apply knowledge.*Prepares books and promotional displays.*Shelves, shelf-reads and shifts materials.*Prepares daily cash summary, balances monies received and cash drawer.*Works as the Library's liaison to Maricopa County Library District for the Summer Reading Challenge. *Acts as a Development liaison by seeking in-kind sponsorships for large-scale events and programs for CPL, MCLD & AZ State Library/AZLA.*Works on large-scale Library funded and LSTA Grant funded projects for facility improvements; such as a technology-focused Early Literacy Space area for Hamilton Library and renovating Hamilton's Lab. *Creates, leads and organizes logistics for large annual programs such as, LibCon (systemwide teen program), Fairytale Ball (families), Staff Development Day (adults), Summer Reading Challenge Kick-Offs (all ages), as well as Super Hero Bash (families), and the 2020 Early Literacy Summit (adults).
