Folger Consort is recognized nationwide as a model chamber music ensemble, performing music from the twelfth through eighteenth centuries. Artistic Directors and Founding Members Robert Eisenstein and Christopher Kendall form the core of the ensemble and are joined by internationally noted guest artists, both singers and instrumentalists. In her role as Consort Manager, Ms. Bowman: Manages Folger Consort in its approx. 30 early music concerts and other activities per year. Curates artistic season in coordination with Artistic Directors and Artistic Producer. Maintains $300,000 budget for careful tracking and reporting of artistic season’s finances. Coordinates logistical arrangements for smooth concert and touring operations. Develops relationships with outside organizations for outreach and audience engagement. Manages and edits website, social media content, and marketing communications. Develops contracts and ensures contractual obligations are met. Oversees marketing and subscription campaigns with small marketing and design team. Manages audio and digital recordings for commercial sales and archival purposes.

Founded in 1977 by Dr. J. Reilly Lewis, the Washington Bach Consort is committed to the study and performance of the complete vocal and instrumental works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries. In her role as Operations Manager, Ms. Bowman:  Ensured the smooth, effective, and financially responsible production of all music events Served as a liaison between the artists, Union representatives, and administrative staff. Developed and monitored budgets for all production and related activities. Maintained payroll and records, scheduling of musicians, and coordination of auditions. Administered all rehearsal and concert production activities. Coordinated logistical arrangements for contractors and out of town musicians. Acted as librarian by maintaining and organizing the Consort’s collection of music.

 Managed 12 capacity building programs serving over 600 arts organizations in 50-80 events annually through grants from donors such as the Ford, Bloomberg, and Kresge foundations. Prepared programmatic reports for development and administrative stakeholders. Supervised staff, interns, and volunteers on administrative tasks and program events. Monitored budgets totaling $1,000,000 and ensured vendors were paid in a timely manner. Promoted from Coordinator to Assistant Manager in 2009—a first for the department. Oversaw logistics of year-long Arts in Crisis 50 State Tour, communicating with event hosts and press contacts. Developed annual Capacity Building curriculum in collaboration with Institute staff. Coordinated needed resources for constituents through visits with management consultants.

 Coordinated logistics for 5 Capacity Building Programs: including the Program for Culturally Specific Arts Organizations and Board Development Seminar. Administered seminars and online events for Capacity Building Program – nearly 50-80 events a year. Supervised staff, intern, and volunteers on administrative tasks and execution of program events. Provided arts management resources to constituents by scheduling consultative visits with facilitators or connecting them with other sources of assistance. Managed Capacity Building Program communications and databases for over 600 U.S. arts and cultural organizations. Developed annual Capacity Building Programs curriculum and calendar in collaboration with Institute staff. Arranged travel and transportation for Capacity Building program participants and facilitators. Prepared programmatic reports for administrative and development stakeholders. Monitored program budgets of over $500,000 and ensures timely payment for services. Assisted supervisors in the creation of budgets and programming for potential Arts Management initiatives. Initiated successful, cost-cutting advertising measures for Not-for Profit Board Development Seminar.
