As a graduate research assistant, I am currently training under the guidance of Dr. Adam Bachstetter, a renowned expert in neuroinflammation, Alzheimer's Disease and traumatic brain injury. My project focuses on investigating how neuronal interleukin-1 receptor-1 signaling contributes to the pathophysiology of mild traumatic brain injury, but more specifically contributes to neuroinflammation.In Dr. Bachstetter's laboratory, I am developing advanced skills in neurobiology research, including molecular biology techniques, histology, immunohistochemistry, and electrophysiological techniques such as field potential recordings. I am collaborating with other members of the lab to design and execute experiments, and we regularly share our findings at national conferences and in leading scientific journals. This project has significant implications for the development of novel therapeutics aimed at preventing or mitigating the adverse effects of brain injury, and I am excited to contribute to the growing understanding of neuroinflammation's role in traumatic brain injury.

It is used by top athletes, sports training facilities, sports teams, and even hospitals, orthopedic, occupational therapy, and physical therapy clinics. My roles include:1.) Generate and lead sales endeavors focused on showcasing the potential of the D2 if used properly.2.) Investigate research questions geared towards the Dynavision D2's position in addressing traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative disease care when paired with Inneuractive's novel & proprietary neurovisual training methodologies.3.) Leading business development and sustainability efforts to ensure our stronghold on the market remain intact.

After the conclusion of my athletic career as the long snapper for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats football team, I joined Dr. Joe Clark's lab in the Department of Neurology & Rehabilitative Medicine as well as the Department of Athletics. Training in neurodiagnostics and neurorehabilitation has provided me with the unique experiences of working directly with traumatic brain injury patients, both athletes and non-athletes. I routinely perform neurological examinations, and develop both management and rehabilitation strategies to help improve patients' quality of lives. Furthermore, having developed a subject matter expertise in neurovisual training (NVT) protocols and methodologies, I actively engage in and design performance enhancement training programs for the University of Cincinnati division-1 athletes. These peer-reviewed published methods have shown an 80% reduction in concussions, 50% decreased recovery times post-traumatic brain injury, and additional performance improvement across many sports at UC. Additionally, I use this developing expertise in NVT, neurodiagnositcs, and neurorehabilitation to investigate deep research questions focused on neurodegenerative diseases such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), validation of NVT methodologies, and exploring the intricacies of the human brain!

The Crosstown Concussion Crew is an innovative new program that has been developed by the TriHealth ThinkFirst Injury Prevention Program and funded by the Mayfield Clinic with the goal to educate young people about concussions. My role includes traveling to local Cincinnati High Schools to provide students insightful discussions and engaging presentations that help increase their understanding of concussions as well as their severity, especially if left untreated.

THis experience will most certainly be advantageous for my journey to medical school as I will directly learn and observe the intangibles of clinician decision making, which are not directly taught in formal education. Additionally, I directly aid physicians by scribing during their patient interaction to reduce physician burnout and allow for more wholesome, efficient care for patient by physician. Furthermore, as a Medical Scribe, I collaborate with medical professional teams to effectively triage patients in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department.

Worked on and led a very fascinating project that potentially could lead to artificial therapeutics designed to combat the 9th deadliest disease in the United States; Chronic Kidney Disease. The main objectives featured through this research focused on understanding the ligand-antagonist interactions of a protein superfamily using several microbiological, biochemical, and molecular genetic laboratory techniques. The main mission of Dr. Tom Thompson's laboratory focuses on resolving the atomic structures of biological molecules that are necessary for all human life. Knowing what these proteins look like allows us to understand their function, how they are involved in different human diseases and how we can potentially manipulate them to enhance human life.

Directly worked with undergraduate students who sought out guidance for helping them achieve academic success. This role involved understanding several proposed psychological components of learning as well as utilizing exemplary leadership, organizational and communication skills to genuinely aid and empower students to achieve their ambitions. Additionally, Academic Coaches themselves are high achieving UC upperclassmen and graduate students who have been selected based on their academic achievements, interest in helping their peers achieve similar success, and understanding of study strategies and motivation techniques. Coaches are then provided resources and support by a learning assistance specialist in order to encourage success-building practices and habits in their students.

As a peer tutor I directly helped many students one-on-one in several highly competitive and cognitively demanding courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Applied Calculus, and Statistics. My role involved applying cutting-edge motivational techniques that provided students the tools to continually achieve success well after their time with a peer tutor. During my time as a peer tutor, I received a 97.8% satisfactory rating from the peers I tutored, which put me in the top 5% of satisfaction for tutors at the Learning Assistance Center. Additionally, becoming a peer tutor required that I have demonstrated previous success in the courses that I tutored, while genuinely helping to guide fellow peers seeking specialized, one-on-one help in order to instill their "students" with the proper study strategies and skills required to maintain success throughout a particular course as well as providing another resource for students seeking solidification in the knowledge they have been presented with throughout their studies.
