Graduate student in the (595) Master of Science in Information Warfare Systems Engineering (MSIWSE) curriculum. The 24 month IW curriculum provides officers knowledge in the technical, theoretical, and operational aspects of interdisciplinary Information Operations (IO) as they relate to joint mission objectives. This curriculum explores methods and applications which contribute to successful IO, focusing primarily upon electronic warfare (EW) and computer network operations while exposing officers to other aspects of IO including: psychological operations, operational security, deception, and human cognitive decision making. IW curriculum officers are well versed in the engineering and practical application aspects of communications systems, EW systems, and computer/network systems. They also have the requisite knowledge to integrate IO into targeting as well as deliberate and rapid planning. Graduates may also be utilized in the development and acquisition of IO specific systems. Upon completion of the 595 curriculum, students fulfill the requirement for the 8834 Technical Information Operations Officer and Electronic Warfare Systems Officer MOS.
