Researcher in the Organic Robotics Lab under Professor Robert Shepherd. Worked on developing a new type of silicone foam that could be used to manually mold soft actuators (pre-cured). Developed a bio-inspired cephalopod probe under a NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) grant with the potential to be used for subaquatic extraterrestrial exploration on Europa. Designed an 8-legged soft robot with integrated sensing and the ability to move multidirectionally, this robot is able to sense failure in its legs and then use its remaining appendages to travel to designated leg replacement areas.

Researcher in the Distributed Robotics Lab under Professor Daniela Rus. Worked on developing a 3D printable programmable viscoelastic metamaterial with integrated methods to actively change the mechanical properties of a given quantity of the material after it has been fully printed. This required extensive use of a dynamic mechanical analysis machine to characterize different samples.

Participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program working under Professor Robert Wood. Worked on developing rapidly actuating soft robotic devices that utilized build ups of discrete quantities of mechanical energy stored as elastic potential energy.
