I have 14 years of full-time software development, which at least 10 years I dedicated to the oil and gas industry.I started working in 2004 for a software development company, which its main software was wKBX, a Lotus Notes web-based application, written in C++, C# and LotusScript, used to manage intranet related data. In 2007, I was a successful candidate in a national contest and chosen to work for CENPES (Petrobras’ Research Center). Allocated initially in the IT team responsible to manage CENPES’ intranet applications I developed several web-based applications using Java, JSF and JavaScript technologies where most of them integrated to Oracle database system. In 2010, I had the opportunity to do specialized training in both scientific software development and oil and gas reservoir engineering which led to change to the reservoir-engineering sector focused on developing a reservoir and production simulation software, written in C# and C++. This was a joint project between Petrobras, SHELL and the Canadian company CMG (Computer Modelling Group). This opportunity allowed me to live and work in Calgary, Canada for 6 months. During this collaboration, I worked in the design and construction of several tools and tests of the simulation software. I also used all my post-graduate research and training to work on improving the simulator, specifically dealing with linear solver problems and possible ways of applying parallel techniques to optimize its performance. In 2017, I visualized an opportunity to participate in one team that needed to make parallel one in-house developed geomechanic simulator, originally written in Fortran, using MPI. Focused on a technical challenging career in a software development environment.
