Investment Strategist
CurrentAfter seven years as an investment strategist at CORDA Investment Management, I know that this firm understands our clients. We know their comfort level with risk. Many are in their fifties and sixties, ending (or thinking of ending) their careers and hoping for the golden retirement they’ve spent entire lifetimes working toward.• One client was a recent widow. Her husband had always taken charge of their investments, so she asked me to look at her portfolio. It was surprisingly high-risk, so I was able to slowly sell her risky shares, buy safer securities, and make her portfolio much more reflective of her goals and position in life.• Another client is a longtime friend of mine and a successful surgeon. His wife’s also a doctor, so they have targets on their backs that are visible to those out to make a quick buck. Unfortunately, they get approached more than normal to invest in get-rich quick schemes. That’s okay. One of the services I perform as their investment adviser is to remind them that slow and steady is likelier to build wealth in the long run than the next high-risk proposal that comes along.
