While small, this position afforded me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills such as time management skills, how to prioritize tasks, the need to communicate effectively, and the necessity to know and understand the intricacies of policies related to supervising civilians. Mission Command was used to empower employees to make decisions resulting in them feeling like they made an impact. Building relationships was a focus to develop trust. Applied analytical skills to develop an automated tool used to identify structure changes related to the Inspector General and Equal Opportunity Advisor program. The result was a reduction in processing time by 80%, allowing employees more time to focus on managing their programs. Synchronized efforts with the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA M&RA) to update AR 614-200 regarding the Army’s Equal Opportunity Program based on feedback from the Department of the Army (DA) Inspector General’s investigation. Worked with the HQDA SHARP Program Office and SHARP Academy to develop a centrally managed SHARP program like the Army’s EOA program. Organized RFIs for the SHARP program on policy and procedural changes, structure requirements, and training requirements. Show less
