JEFFREY J. JOHNSON is a Director and shareholder with the Northern Colorado law firm of Johnson Muffly & Dauster PC. After 30 plus years of practice, Jeff now focuses his legal practice on real estate related matters. This fits his experience and is well matched with his interest in real estate. He enjoys working with other real estate professionals in accomplishing project oriented objectives. Jeff works with developers, investors, and business owners in real estate related matters including: development of commercial, mixed-use, multi-family and residential subdivisions; condominium projects; retail, office, and commercial centers; purchase and sale agreement negotiation, due diligence, title review and closing activities; loan, equity and capital stack financing; leasing; and, choice of entity including limited liability companies, joint ventures and tenant-in-common ownership structures. These experiences add value in integrating real estate related matters into broader client objectives and in the coordination with other financial, tax and business advisors. He also has vast experience in business matters including business sales and acquisitions, choice of entity, business formation crafted to specific business objectives, and business transition and exit strategies. Jeff enjoys mentoring and collaborating with other attorneys and achieves this objective in both real estate and business matters. Jeff’s community involvement is integral to his practice and lifestyle. His volunteer experience and service includes: City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing Board (2012 – 2020); Funding Partners For Housing Solutions, Inc. (Board of Trustees 2009 to 2012); Larimer County United Way (Board of Directors 1998 – 2008; Various Committees and Committee Chair Positions 1993 – 1998). Jeff received his law degree from the University of Colorado, with an emphasis in Taxation, in 1990, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Montana, in 1987. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado and Larimer County Bar Associations. He enjoys an active lifestyle of daily fitness and free time activities include reading, barbecue, and outdoor oriented activities such as hiking, skiing, kayaking and family related travel. Jeff is married to Kathleen and has two adult children, Kai and Gavin.
