As the Local Sales Team Leader for KCWI/KDMI tv, my responsibilities are to lead of team of 8 salespeople, with the goal of making them as successful as possible. I'm responsible for leading special projects as well, including our industry leading marketing seminar, The DifferenceMaker and special events involving our "jingle genius", Mr. Gary Jones with Audio Recall. In 2013, our TV stations will be introducing exciting new digital opportunities for our clients, and I'm very excited to help present these opportunites to our clients. My goal is to continue to develop new business for both of our TV stations, as well as help our salespeople grow and maximize their potential.

My job at KCWI is to identify and cultivate new local direct business for our station. I work with small businesses every day with the goal of finding holes in their current marketing plans and plugging those holes with solutions that include advertising on our television station. I am the top local sales rep at our station, having broken the all-time monthly local sales record in my 9th month at KCWI. In March, 2009 I broke my own sales record, in what has been labeled one of the worst recessions in American history. I work with local business owners to help them identify their unique selling points, which differentiate them from their competition. I also utilize a very detailed sales process, which when followed correctly leads to a VERY high closing ratio. My clients are very loyal andpleased with the results of the campaigns I’ve developed.

In this position, I was responsible for procuring funds from businesses n the community. I was the first, and only person to have this position at BHR. I called on local business/donors to secure funding for mental health programs that served more than 3,300 Central Iowans living with a mental disability. I was also responsible for writing, editing, and working with printers to produce our company newsletter. This quarterly collateral material is sent to more than 700 members of our mailing list.
