I've enjoyed working in several different roles primarily in manufacturing during my career, but I've made a change within the last year and began working for a growing metals service enterprise in an accounting and finance function as part of their corporate leadership team. NIM (Norfolk Iron & Metals) is known to be a trusted supplier delivering outstanding service with an ever-expanding list of capabilities while providing an employee-friendly working environment. I'm committed to getting better and learning something new every day. I believe we're all a work in progress and continuous improvement is important not just in business, but as a guiding principle for each of us individually. A former employer had a tongue-in-cheek saying that we're not smarter than anybody else, we're just 200 mistakes ahead.Depending on the season, when not working, I can be found reading, exercising, boating, snow skiing, or my real passion golf. Like many others, the game is something that continues to be an enigma as both a source of supreme accomplishment and bitter misfortune. I also find myself being dragged around by my wife, the family travel agent, to places I might not otherwise visit. As Emerson said, "Life is a journey, not a destination."
