Greater Omaha Area

I assisted in the coverage of Omaha sporting events and teams. I learned the intricacies of generating content and covering stories on a daily basis in a professional setting. This position offered me a chance to work on deadline in a competitive environment while learning the basis of broadcast.

University Of Nebraska-Lincoln

I covered men's gymnastics and football as beats during my time with the paper. Reporting on an alternative sport like men's gym helped me think creatively while also getting to know the small team and it's athletes well. I became an editor and football beat writer during my second semester, covering Nebraska during it's inaugural season in the Big Ten conference. I believe writing for print made me a better writer for broadcast.

Greater Omaha Area

As a member of the promotions department, I helped coordinate and plan several campaigns and events for the station. We helped spread WOWT's message and it's image through mainstays like Jazz on the Green and Omaha Fashion Week. I also produced a weekly fan segment during the Nebraska football season, featuring the game day rituals of Big Red faithful. This taught me about a different side of the broadcast industry while also giving me experience in social media and innovative platforms for broadcast.
