Provided detailed design and analysis support to various engineering and construction projects in the refining and petrochemical industries. Performed evaluations of special or complex mechanical and structural configurations using classical approaches and various software analysis tools, including MathCAD, Excel, RISA-3D, and RISA-Connect. Used AISC-ASD (Allowable Stress Design) and AISC-LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) to evaluate various vessel-mounted structural components, particularly special configuration vessel platforms and miscellaneous equipment supports, and developed standardized spreadsheet-based calculation and reporting formats to support structural analysis review and stamping by Canadian Professional Engineers for Canadian refinery and petrochemical projects.

Provided patent infringement litigation support for matters covering patented technologies for companies in the upstream oil & gas industry and in the semiconductor/electronic device industry.

Managed task force engineering teams responsible for the specification, design, procurement, and fabrication of pressure vessels and tanks. Performed front-end engineering feasibility studies, defining equipment design and procurement parameters, and completing initial project manpower planning and equipment cost estimates. Developed complete engineering and procurement packages for high-end, critical refinery process vessels, including inquiry and specification documents, bid evaluations, and equipment requisitions. Managed all aspects and phases of complex technical purchase orders, including supplier and client interface and support, schedule management, and technical problem resolution. Developed detailed engineering specifications for high pressure and high temperature vessels, including material selection and fabrication, fabrication of process internals, and overall quality control requirements. Performed detailed design analysis of specialty equipment components in high pressure, high temperature, and cyclic operating conditions.

Developed a complete product line of patented high-pressure flanged connections, with applications for stand-alone flanged closures as well as connections integrated into OEM equipment. Devised and implemented testing programs to obtain various international certifications, and to meet specialized owner/operator requirements. Performed and managed all phases of specialty closure engineering and manufacturing, including product design, material specification and procurement, machining and fabrication, and sales support.

Performed and reviewed ASME Code calculations for pressure vessel design. Provided technical support to project task force engineers by performing detailed design and analysis of complex pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and vessel components. Calculation tools included finite element analysis programs, specialized computer program applications, and classic hand calculations.
