Grace Mary Manor and Kelly Benson - Permanent Supportive Housing Salt Lake City.; Responsible for job coaching and job development for residents of two supportive housing units in Salt Lake City. This includes: job preparation, resumes, skill building, job-readiness groups, individual sessions around job placement. Responsible for meeting with clients regularly and meeting with case managers to staff the readiness of clients to work.

Responsible for research on the Spafford Project entitled Repositioning for the New Old: Planning for the Needs of Baby Boomers and Their Families. This three year project is designed to assess the needs of adults ages 55-70 and how Salt Lake City is equipped to meet those needs. Responsible for planning/conducting focus groups and developing a comprehensive survey regarding the needs of adults ages 55-70. Responsible for coding and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data resulting from the project.

Scheduled, supervised, and advised six summer Conference Assistants for the University of Kansas. Responsible for billing camps, taking care of issues that arose, and acted as a mediator between the Department of Student Housing and camp directors.

Designed and created two classes in policy for advanced standing MSW students. Lectures included: Community organizing, policy analysis, and general information related to policy. Conducted research for the Office of Aging and Long Term Care (OALTC) related to grant proposals and book revisions. Other duties included data entry, SPSS, and data development for the purpose of fulfilling contractual agreements. As a research assistant at the OALTC, I had the opportunity to develop grants and work on multiple strengths based initiatives.

Supervised and advised nine Resident Assistants for the University of Kansas. Responsible for committee work with the recruitment of RAs, campus-wide training, and judicial board coordinator. Maintained programming and Academic Resource Center budgets. Integrate Residence Life philosophy in programs and educational sanctions. Developed the student judicial board in my first year and campus wide student conduct board in my second year at Kansas. Hearing officer for judicial infractions for students living in McCollum Hall. Documented and advised on programming centered on academic, education, diversity, and/or alcohol/drug topics. Act as a liaison for the Title IX coordinator at Kansas and provide appropriate sanctions based on findings.

Responsible for short-term crisis intervention between parents and adolescent youth. Additionally, responsible for the safety of the youth during their stay at ICYC, implementing programs/groups to aid with any behavior problems, record keeping of all youth who enter the facility and establishing an electronic database to ensure goals were met for services. Also responsible for interviewing youth and parents for ideas on programming groups centered on behavioral modifications.

Responsible for supervision of youth during their classes and activities. Provided mediation to resolve conflicts between the youth, and other supports essential to the development and progress of the students and their well being.
