I manage a number of our center's programs including Seed, Launchpad, and Miller Grants. Seed is a community for all-in BYU entrepreneurs. Launchpad is a summer accelerator similar to Y Combinator. Miller Grants are tiered, non-dilutive grants awarded to student businesses based on applications, pitching, and milestones (up to $1,000 in validation grants and up to $27,000 in traction grants).

As the assistant director for the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at BYU:• I directly manage complex working environments that have further enhanced my skills in interpersonal communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, decision-making, and leadership among many others.• I am in charge of overseeing a handful of students who execute the events and activities of the center. I hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate these students.• I helped facilitate the successful merger between the centers for e-business and entrepreneurship.• I was instrumental in establishing and maintaining relationships with external industry sponsors and the creation of new events like the Utah Startup Marketplace, a career fair that connects students with local startups; Utah Student 25, an awards program that recognizes the top twenty-five student entrepreneurs in the state of Utah; and the International Business Model Competition, a first of its kind, international new venture competition based on the emerging lean startup movement.

My duties and responsibilities at the Rollins Center for eBusiness were very similar to those I currently have at the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology. The Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is the result of a merger between the Center for Entrepreneurship and Center for eBusiness in February 2009. When the two centers merged I took on some additional duties and my title was changed to Assistant Director.

The IBMC is the first and largest lean startup competition in the world. The competition's primary aim is to educate and inspire smarter entrepreneurs who in turn launch more successful ventures.

During my time as chair of the Student Activities Board at ISU: • I directly supervised nine (9) student programmers and took an active role in helping them set goals and develop professional skills that would help them as a programmer and in their personal lives.• I planned, coordinated, marketed, executed, and assessed a large variety of campus programs and activities and was directly responsible for the proper management of the board’s nearly $400,000.00 budget.• I learned how to multi-task and the importance of being detail-oriented and meeting deadlines. These skills as well as my organizational and problem-solving skills were especially tried and tested when I spearheaded an extensive undertaking to bring “big concerts” back to the ISU campus.Due to the nature of the position, I interacted with many other departments and companies within and without the institution on a regular basis. This interaction helped build a stronger sense of community on and off campus. As the coordinator of the board I was also accountable for the proper management of the board's nearly $400,000 dollar budget.
