We take a very customized approach when initially engaging with a leadership team, taking into account their history and current state. Our team coaching model consists of an assessment and contracting phase that identifies the issues that are impeding the team and need to be solved. The coaching phase is the bulk of our work with the team and generally consists of working with the whole team as well as subsets and in some cases individuals.The objective is not to fix any one individual, but rather to help the team see themselves as a system that currently may be getting in their own way and how they can come together to ignite their potential.This is challenging and yet very rewarding work for all parties. We have developed a stand-alone 360 feedback program that incorporates an extensive debrief of findings with 4-6 hours of coaching wrapped around it. Clients have sought this out for individuals as well as functional and executive teams. We utilize them both in a one on one setting as well as in a group setting. We utilize the Leadership Versatility Index 360 Survey developed by Kaiser Learning. We believe that one of our core skill sets is to deliver feedback in a way that encourages a layered, multidimensional conversation. Together, we really dig into the data and look at how certain characteristics could impact specific scenarios and what risks they might present.

One of the dominating themes in my practice was the impact work was having on my clients. In parallel I also started working with professional/elite athletes on the mental aspects of their performance. I did work in Major League Baseball, The National Football league and with amateur athletes competing to make the USA Olympic team.

I was invited to join the staff of the Meyer Friedman Institute at the University of California San Francisco. Meyer Friedman was a research cardiologist who founded the Type A Behavior Pattern. I was on staff there during a 10 year research project. This work gave me a keen understanding of how the work setting and a predisposition to this behavior pattern raises many health and relationship issues for people.
