DRW Trading Group is an entrepreneurial proprietary trading group participating in numerous financial markets, both domestic and international. DRW gains a competitive advantage by successfully melding trading and risk management with research and technology.As a Software Engineer I worked with diverse teams at DRW Trading to improve our business. I worked on applications to drive the adoption of Git within the company because of developer enthusiasm for Git. I've worked on line-of-business applications to help our IT managers get a handle on the many software projects within the firm, and a billing application for our internal accounting teams. I've worked on software and infrastructure for in-sourcing our market data research systems from cloud providers to give us more control over cost and performance. I've also worked on applications to improve our software and hardware management giving us valuable insight into what we're paying for and how it's all connected.

As a build and release engineer I was responsible for maintaining our continuous integration and testing environment which produced over 700 builds per day on average. I supported software engineers at DRW to provide a pleasant and productive atmosphere in which to develop software. As such, I was the resident fixer of such things as; compiler errors, fixing broken unit tests, and helping with source code branch and merge strategies.I was also involved, as a developer, on projects that involved automating our infrastructure. One project was to generate consolidated source code metric reports from multiple different tools. Another project resulted in automated software deployments for internally developed products.

NYSE Euronext, brings together six cash equities exchanges in seven countries and eight derivatives exchanges, and is a world leader for listings, trading in cash equities, equity and interest rate derivatives, bonds and the distribution of market data.Responsible for managing software releases for all internal trading products.Contributed to an automated deployment system that made the installation processconsistent and painless for our QA and Production environments.

Led a three person team responsible for administering all of NYSE Arca's websystems.Designed and supported the web infrastructure including web servers, loadbalancers, application servers, DNS, and PKI. All of which required applicationand performance monitoring to maintain uptime and accommodate traffic growth

The Archipelago Exchange was a customer-focused all-electronic stock exchange. Archipelago consistently pushed the boundaries on providing customers the fastest order execution possible. What set the Archipelago Exchange apart was their commitment to find a customer the best price for their order, even if it meant routing that order to another exchange. The Archipelago Exchange is now known as NYSE Arca, a division of NYSE Euronext.Built out a new datacenter facility in downtown Chicago. Worked with businessowners to migrate their servers to the new facility, and administered theservers in their new home. Opened the Archipelago stock exchange every morning,and supported the exchange software throughout the day.
