Primary Responsibilities:- Provide support to District Operations to ensure high-quality administration of all agency programs within our District. Regular tasks include: preparation of tract/stand maps, collecting property and stand data, direct interaction with clientele, drafting of management plans, capacity building, conservation education, fire prevention, and various special projects. -Serve as a wildland firefighter and emergency responder on a statewide and national basis. Duties will include operation of heavy firefighting equipment, use of hand firefighting tools, and perform ground reconnaissance on wildfires.-Serve on Wildland Firefighting Initial Attack Hand Crew since 2017. Duties include national deployments within a 10-person module to wildfires and/or emergency response scenarios. Qualified as sawyer, faller, incident commander, heavy equipment operator and squad-boss. Accomplishments:-Worked with agency resources and school leaders to establish Arbor Day event for local school with full participation from grades Pre-K-12.
