Administers the district's energy conservation and environmental safety programs. Also manages the maintenance and repair of the centralized building automation system which controls major building system functions including HVAC, energy, lighting, security, fire and safety systems.Examples of Work • Manages the day to day operations through departmental trade supervisors. Duties include hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating staff performance. • Develops and implements Energy Management Policy that includes strategies for reducing energy costs and environmental impact. • Generate reports on energy consumption and costs, associated transmission and distribution costs, budget variances, costs of exceptions, and savings achieved. • Assists with the preparation of Energy Management Budget that presents fiscal recommendations for energy initiatives. • Assists in the development of energy-conscious design, maintenance, and operations procedures. • Completes requirements for field related certifications, authorizations, and licenses. • Assists with developing protocols for keeping facilities in compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements (federal, state, and local). • Administers the district's environmental safety program including asbestos management and investigation/ resolution of chemical emergencies. • Manages the maintenance and repair of the centralized building automation system which controls major building system functions including HVAC, energy, lighting, security, fire and safety systems. • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and school policies related to the buildings and grounds function including OSHA requirements, EPA requirements and the like. Recommends and implements changes to methods and processes as necessary.

Responsible for identifying and implementing cost-effective conservation programs for Student Life utilities, energy and HVAC systems.Researches pollution prevention and waste reduction to improve process efficiency and reduce process waste hazards or energy use, with the goal of improving Student Life internal environment and the environment of our local community.
