Jeffrey Stevens has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal courts, private arbitrations and mediations. As a trial lawyer, Mr. Stevens handles a variety of commercial disputes, and has significant experience and expertise in the construction industry.Mr. Stevens represents general contractors, owners, subcontractors and suppliers in Utah and the Intermountain West. On behalf of his client he has prosecuted and defended against the entire range of construction related claims, including breach of contract, mechanic’s lien, construction defects, design defects, delay, disruption, unforeseen conditions, termination, application of the plans and specifications, warranty, indemnity, safety, industrial accidents, payment and performance bonds, kickbacks, and insurance coverage.Mr. Stevens has represented clients involved in some of the most notable construction projects in the Intermountain West, including the Grand America Hotel, the Olympic Speed Skating Oval, Ritz -Carlton Bachelor Gulch, Four Seasons Jackson Hotel, Rice Eccles Stadium, The Gateway, Fashion Place Mall, Four Seasons Vail, as well as corrections facilities, government administration buildings, commercial office towers, oil and gas refineries, private residences, secondary schools, public relations facilities, sports training facilities, industrial production and distribution facilities, and apartment complexes.Mr. Stevens has tried and arbitrated many complex construction cases lasting from a week to four months in length. The results that he has achieved on behalf of his clients total more than $150,000,000. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Stevens worked extensively in the construction industry, and he has first-hand experience with most construction trades, other than the electrical and mechanical trades.
