Established Millennium's high-throughput genotyping laboratory. Led complex trait genetic studies in diabetes and obesity. Developed family genetic collections supporting asthma, cardiovascular, and schizophrenia gene discovery programs.

Working in the laboratory of William E. Paul, determined the molecular basis of X-linked Immunodeficiency in mouse, the analogue of X-linked Agammaglobulinemia in human.
