Sep 2010 - Nov 2013

Landscape Architect

Springfield, Missouri

I returned to Butler, Rosenbury & Partners after completing my final year and earning my degree from Kansas State. I picked up where I left off from my internship the previous summer and went on to obtain my license as a Registered Landscape Architect. My main responsibility was to support the four main architectural studios (Business to Business, Retail & Entertainment, Civil & Community, and Hospitality) with all of their site development work. I continued to produce complete site development construction documents and assist with permitting these various projects. Notable projects include:The Sight & Sound Theatre - Branson, MO: The largest project I have worked on so far in my career, the spectacular, massive theater in Branson is home to religious themed productions which all use live animals. Due to the sloping nature of the topography in the area, the grading plan was designed to balance cut/fill as much as possible while keeping the use of retaining walls to a minimum. I was assigned to this project for three years and helped begin the process by meeting with the owner on site to find the best way to locate the building to maximize the views of the surrounding area. Approximately thirty acres of land were used for development of the project. An entry plaza was designed to showcase the lion and the lamb water feature in front of the building. Service areas and an outdoor animal exercise area are screened behind the building. Construction documentation and permitting lasted approximately one year and construction lasted for nearly two years. At the completion of the project the entire team was invited to the first show at the new theater.
