Initially hired as Regional Information Systems Manager, directing 24/7 data center IT operations and technical support for the company’s largest distribution center in Fort Mills, SC, I led its $20M doubled expansion to a 730,000 square foot facility and state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System. We captured a 20% boost in efficiencies with zero added head count. I was promoted to Director of Technology in October 2003, continuing to head distribution center IT for 10 months; recruiting and training my replacement.As Director of IT from October 2003 to September 2013, I led strategic direction (best practices and roadmaps) of telecommunications, data center operations, network infrastructure and security, and helpdesk operations, including system support for over 1,900 desktops, as well as PCI compliance / auditing for multi-channel retail/manufacturing. ILLUSTRATIVE SUCCESSES:►Piloted migration, consolidation and enhancement initiatives (data center, ERP, WMS and staff) enabling synergies and economies of scale for 3 companies as a result of acquisition (Sportsman’s Guide and The Golf Warehouse) that took company from $850M to $1.2 billion. ► Negotiated and agreements that trimmed operating expenses 24% and standardized deployed technology. ►Downsized data center into fourth of original space. Multi-tier IBM WebSphere Commerce website ranked #71 of Top 100 Retailers on Internet (against Home Depot, eBay, Amazon, etc.); and took #2 spot in home improvement. Held 99.98% uptime for 2 sites averaging over 1 million hits a day. ►Designed fully-redundant disaster recovery and business architecture supporting sales, customer service, manufacturing and order fulfillment across 2 data centers. ►Designed and implemented server virtualization infrastructure that shrunk ownership cost 40% and improved performance/throughput 400%. ►Heightened employee retention 50%.

Initially hired by the CEO as an intern, I was brought on board full time as a Programmer Analyst (9/1992-12/1994). Projects encompassed implementation of Novell network (PC and Mac), custom code development (RPG/400; 4th Dimension) and migration to AS/400. My customizations to a major system slashed $80K in annual consulting fees.During 2-year tenure with H.B. Fuller (1994-1996), I stayed on as a consultant to Kraus; and in 1996, was recruited back to Kraus by the CFO as full-time Network Manager, tasked with bringing the network infrastructure in house amidst the technologies boom. During this time, I facilitated the company’s explosive growth, directing large-scale, multi-year projects across 5 remote Minnesota-based divisional sites.ILLUSTRATIVE SUCCESSES:►Hired and managed lean staff supporting 300 users with custom applications, gap analysis, and upgrades; conversions (Apple desktops to Windows Novell network); WAN site access; and centralized email platform and data sharing. ►Personally recovered data post fire damage, enabling divisional operations’ return (equipment and infrastructure) to business within timeframe thought impossible.

After recruitment as Programmer Analyst, rapidly promoted to System Development Manager, tasked with creating and executing global / local standards for enterprise resource planning (JD Edwards), manufacturing resource planning (Marcam Prism), financials (JD Edwards), and sales automation (Silvon Sales Tracker). Wins included ISO 9000 compliance initiatives, APICS Product and Inventory Management certification, and a sales analysis platform across all global business units.
