I lead a Resource Development department comprised of Community Engagement, Special Events, Volunteer and Mentorship Programs, Grant Writing and Outcome Measurement, and all marketing and communications efforts. In my role, I work closely with our CEO and Board of Directors to plan and execute resource development strategies and monitor progress toward goals. I directly manage the implementation of all activities related to Annual Campaign goals, including our organization’s primary fundraising events. In collaboration and with guidance from our Board of Directors Marketing Committee, I bring to life strategic marketing strategies and utilize articulate storytelling to shine a light on our mission and the programs being implemented throughout our organization.

Through corporate partnerships, I coordinate funding for our two annual events in the Topeka market: Heart Walk, and the Go Red for Women Luncheon, as well as our new Manhattan Go Red For Women event. Compose all direct mail, email and on-air solicitations for new and current “Friends of KTWU” membership contributions, set goals for membership revenues that realistically support the station’s annual operating budget, process payments and prepare deposits and acknowledgements in accordance with IRS requirements and University guidelines, and most importantly: develop and nurture relationships with members, underwriters, sponsors.

Conceptualized, planned, and launched a new series of weekly painting classes, aimed at the Adult beginner. Classes are held each week, and accommodate 25-35 students.

Oversee all marketing efforts for the Arts Center, including: website maintenance, social media presence, Constant Contact email marketing, radio, newspaper, and cable television ads, and poster design. Chair all Arts Center fundraisers, help to coordinate and organize Annual Fund Drive in addition to ongoing Capital Campaign efforts.

Tracked all tourism inquiries to present to board members. Oversaw trade show efforts such as the Kansas Sampler Festival and the Travel Industry Association of Kansas, where Emporia was marketed and promoted. Served as a community liaison to help local businesses and organizations with their events marketing and promotion.

Researched, planned, coordinated, and documented all enrichment items given to each animal in the zoo's inventory, and analyzed data collected, in order to continually improve the quality of their lives in captivity. Coordinated and assisted with all veterinary and preventative medicine procedures such as annual physical exams and vaccinations.
