I started out in customer service and tech support and still have a passion for solving problems (and preventing them whenever possible), as well as the patience of a saint. I’m familiar with Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence, Google and Microsoft Suites, and various other tools, and remain quick to master new platforms and processes.When I transitioned to content creator and then managing editor at Chowhound.com, I wrote, edited, and built hundreds of WordPress articles, from quick news reports to deeply researched pieces, all optimized for SEO and commerce without sacrificing storytelling. I also managed our content calendar in Asana, maintained our internal knowledgebase in Google Docs, managed the bulk of our freelance pool, created weekly A/B newsletters, and regularly prepared and presented performance metrics for stakeholders. As this work was all done remotely, I’m extremely comfortable collaborating from afar and effectively managing my time.More recently, I’ve done freelance writing and transcription jobs and analyzed sales leads in a fast-paced setting with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.I’ve also written two novels. The Light on Farallon Island is available now (and was nominated for an Oregon Book Award); A Cure for Sorrow releases on September 24, 2024.While I’m now focusing my creative writing energy on fiction, I continue to seek flexible, meaningful, and challenging employment that draws on my diverse experience and skills and continues to teach me new things.
