Assisting students in grades 1-12 with all subjects. Worked with students who have autism spectrum disorder, behavior disorder, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, specifc learning disabilities.

Tutored 7th and 8th graders in science, math, social studies, health, and technology as a member of the AVID Program.

After-School Programs Instructor at Mad Science, teaching science concepts to children in K-6.

Advising Oregon State Board of Geology Examiners for rules changes.

Duties included: managing six moderate to large-scale environmental remediation projects at former retail and bulk terminal locations in Washington State for a major petroleum client. Highlights of the projects include:--Sites that are under Agreed Order with Washington Department of Ecology, with neighboring PRPs, and complex access issues. Shallow groundwater contamination near shorelines, soil and groundwater contamination near municipal wells, sites with SVE systems, LNAPL, and physical barriers to delineating offsite. Used Washington’s Model Toxic Control Act (MTCA) for establishing cleanup levels. Followed State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and Shoreline Act for alternatives analysis.Other skills gained: Writing health and safety plans, performing Job Hazard Analysis, oversight of subcontractors, site access agreements, project management financial procedures, mentoring junior staff, and business development.

Conducted Phase I and Phase II ESAs, soil/groundwater sampling, and construction management/environmental oversight consulting. Project Manager for environmental work on the following BES projects (among others): --Gateway/Parkrose UIC Sump Retrofit (Work consisted of evaluating sumps against model for decommissioning, sampling applicable sumps for groundwater and soil parameters, writing SAP/QAPP/decommissioning plan report as required by BES WPCF Permit and OAR 340-044.)--Ramsey Refugia Habitat Restoration (Work consisted of creating fish refuge on Columbia Slough. Worked with project team from pre-design through construction, SAP and QAPP for regulator approval, Phase II ESA, contaminated media management plan, innovative soil disposal options, dredge permits, environmental oversight consulting, supervised construction crews.) --Fireboat Station 6 Dredging in the Portland Harbor Superfund Area (Work consisted of sediment sampling, Request for Proposal, choosing dredging contractor, contract and ordinance, 401/404 Dredging Permits and negotiating with DSL, ACOE, DEQ, and EPA.)--NE Sandy Blvd. Streetscape/Sewer (Phase I and Phase II ESAs, engineer’s estimate for bid package, heating oil tank removal, lead-based paint/asbestos testing, stormwater management/design, environmental oversight consulting/inspection of General Contractors during construction.) --Portland “Eastside and Westside Big Pipe” Sewer Construction (Phase I and Phase II ESAs, soil/groundwater sampling, environmental oversight consulting, Investigative Derived Waste disposal.) Other: --Contract Manager for our Division: Wrote three different Professional, Expert, and Technical Services contracts. Wrote the Request for Proposal, ordinance and contract, and communicated with the proposers.--Preparing the division’s annual budget and assisting with hiring and training new employees.--I created maps in ArcGIS using outside sources.
