Jen Hobbs is a writer whose diverse storytelling career spans over a decade in news production, entertainment, marketing, content creation, ghostwriting, book publishing, and publicity. She is the author of "American Hemp" (April 2019) and the co-author of "Jesse Ventura’s Marijuana Manifesto" (Sept. 2016). Her latest book, "Cooking with CBD" debuted in June 2020. From 2016 to 2022, Jen was the content strategist, social media director, publicist, and producer for “The World According to Jesse,” starring former Independent Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura. The half-hour political series aired weekly and amassed millions of views. The show was a spinoff of Jesse’s digital tv show “Off the Grid,” which aired on Larry King’s independent network, Ora TV from 2012-2015. In 2009, Jen started her freelance career as a National Media Strategist and Publicity Consultant, representing Oscar and Emmy Award-winning clients as well as politicians and authors, including Jesse Ventura and Larry King. During this time, she was the publicist for Larry King's "PoliticKING" and "Larry King Now" and Jesse Ventura's "Off The Grid" digital tv shows. She was also the booking producer and online content creator for Jesse Ventura's "Off The Grid" and directed the social media strategy for the three shows on multiple celebrity accounts. Jen attended graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) and earned her MFA in Creative Writing in 2013. As a graduate student, she taught grammar and APA and MLA writing styles to ESL students at Miami Dade College and Florida Atlantic University. Her mentorship opportunities with FDU's MFA program included a study abroad program in Banbury, Oxfordshire England at Wroxton University. In 2004, Jen graduated magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from FDU and started her career in public relations at Watson-Guptill Publications. She also spent several years as a commercial print and parts model and developed a diverse portfolio in print ads and commercials, joining SAG in 2010 when she was hired for "The Last Airbender," directed by M Night Shyamalan, as the stand-in for lead actress, Nicola Peltz.
