My objective is to be a successful, engaging, and caring elementary Special Education teacher. I know that for me to be successful my students have to be successful first. I will nurture their success by creating a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. I will ensure my students feel safe by providing clear, concise, and consistent rules for my classroom which will be posted so that everyone knows what is expected of them. I will show my students how to earn the respect of others by modeling respectful comments and actions so that my students will know they have the respect of myself and their peers. I know that for students to be engaged the information they are taught must be relevant to them. I will take the time to get to know my students and work with their families so that I will be able to connect the lessons to my students' lives while meeting state and local standards.
