In recent years, I have found my passion in Outpatient Surgical Coding and Health information as an employee of Sentara Healthcare. In 2019, I obtained my AAPC CPC certification and later, my CGSC (Certified General Surgery Coder) certification and have had the pleasure to expand my coding knowledge by receiving valuable experience in other specialties including Hand surgery (a sub specialty of orthopedics), pain management, and gastroenterology. I am driven in learning more within my field as well as being a support to my team of fellow coders and providers. As of August 2022, I gained my Associates degree in Medical Reimbursement and Coding through Bryant and Stratton University to supplement my experience as a surgical coder and have plans to continue my professional growth in Outpatient Surgical Coding.
