My career has been dedicated to advocating for, and ensuring access to, services that allow individuals to age with choice and dignity. I am interested in policy and advocacy work on issues impacting older adults. I have extensive knowledge about funding and policy for aging services programs including Older Americans Act, as well as substantial knowledge and experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurances that support aging services. I have unique first-hand experience understanding the issues impacting older adults, their families and caregivers having worked for years directly with individuals and their families. I have experience as a project manager, managing grants, contracts, building relationships, and representing organizations at the local, state and national level. I am a strong leader who guides staff, works well on a team with a collaborative approach of addressing issues, and believes one of my greatest strengths is building connection with partners and stakeholders. I am innovative when thinking of ways to address problems and believe we need to eliminate "the box" when creating and building for our future. I am a problem solver and see my role as supporting innovation, facilitating discussion, and accomplishing goals that supports the mission of an organization.
